About Us
Purple Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2019 by a group of ardent women professionals and activists in Nepal. The organization works towards structural change through social and digital advocacy, collaborating with key international and national organizations, the government, the private sector, and political leaders. In its initial years, Purple worked extensively with survivor-led organizations addressing issues such as bonded and forced labour, child exploitation, trafficking in persons, and women in crisis.
In parallel, Purple has been working with gender and sexual minorities, persons with disabilities, Dalits, and other marginalized communities. In the course of its close engagement to advance structural change, Purple recognized that advocacy alone was insufficient; meaningful transformation also requires participation and representation at decision-making levels. In response, the organization initiated efforts toward inclusive electoral reform grounded in GEDSI principles. Over the past three years, Purple has remained committed to this effort, reaching thousands of individuals. We aspire to serve as a foundational force in advancing the nation toward a truly democratic state.
