Nepal has unfortunately a high incidence of commercial and sexual exploitation of children. Child labor is prevalent in Nepal, with many children working long hours in dangerous and exploitative conditions in various sectors such as agriculture, brick kilns, entertainment, transportation, and domestic servitude. Some children are trafficked into forced labor. Among the children, girls are particularly vulnerable, with many being trafficked to the country or to neighboring counties. According to the ILO, labor force survey report, 31,338 population are in forced labor and 17% are children. The report says 36.3% of children are involved in one or other activity providing services or own use. Nepal reports a high number of missing children every year. According to Nepal Police, in the fiscal year, 2076/77 total of 2729 children went missing which 1895 were girls.
