During a disaster, women, including gender and sexual minorities, people with disabilities, elderly may face a range of unique challenges that can impact their life differently than others. This can impact their physical safety, emotional well-being, and overall ability to cope with the situation. Some of the risks are increased risk of violence, lack of access to healthcare, lack of access to reproductive rights, lack of livelihood options, separations from families, and lack of sanitation and hygiene. This puts women at higher risks of being trafficked, abused, and exploitation. Women in crisis need special attention and care with additional priorities, anytime and anywhere.
